 The range of materials analysed by GC (GC-FID or GC-MS) includes:

  • Crude oils - Hydrocarbon profiling C6 - C44  and  extended  range simulated distillation C12-C100. Ethanol  and  methanol. Most other single compound parameters eg oil bio-markers etc.
  • Process / Produced  waters  and Effluents - Hydrocarbon content, BTEX, PAHs, Glycols, V

  • Process / Produced  waters  and Effluents - Hydrocarbon content, BTEX, PAHs, Glycols, VFAs, Biocides and any other single compound suitable for the technique.
  • Natural and potable waters - Hydrocarbons, contaminants.
  • Sediments  and soils - Contaminant analysis, specific compounds, PAHs, organotins (TBT) etc
  • Waste materials - for compositional analysis
  • Drill cuttings - Hydrocarbon content / profile. Compound identification eg glycols etc.

FTIR  analysis  typical  sample  types include: Thermoplastics and elastomers to  check  for  chemical  denaturation,  unknown chemicals for identification, waste sludges for identification/characterisation.

HPLC analysis is typically used for measuring specific organic acids, biocides, corrosion inhibitors etc.

  • Sediment monitoring for in feed pesticides (emamectin benzoate (Slice) and teflubenzuron) by HPLC
  • Particle  size  distribution  analysis and  organic  material  by  weight loss on ignition
  • Compound identification / quantification by GC-MS
  • 4-Hexylresorcinol residue analysis by HPLC
